0% wood ignition, 0% pore drawing, 0% VOC (volatile organic compounds) result in 100% raw wood effect. This is the DNA of "OLI-NATURA Scandic-Oil For Furniture". This is made possible by vegetable oils in an aqueous emulsion, which are refined in a complex process. In addition, a fine pinch of light-stable white pigments rounds off the raw wood effect and offers UV protection. The viscous formulation can be optimally brushed or sprayed, has good stability on vertical surfaces and is therefore recommended for stair and furniture surfaces.

The natural "Scandic-Oil For Furniture" earns additional sympathy points because it is so environmentally friendly and VOC-free. In addition, the oiled surfaces are good for the indoor climate. The low-odour furniture oil is harmless to humans, animals and plants, complies with DIN EN 71-3 (Safety of Toys) and DIN 53160 (Saliva and Sweat Resistance). Whether in the children's room, bedroom or living room: "Scandic-Oil For Furniture" feels at home in all living areas. It protects untreated and newly sanded furniture or stairs made of light softwood and hardwood.

However, before you start, the furniture must be finely sanded, dry, clean, dust-free and grease-free. For the final sanding, grit 240 is recommended. Afterwards, the surface should be thoroughly dusted. Here we show you step by step how to apply it: Shake the container well before opening. The oil-water emulsion and the pigment that has settled can then mix perfectly again.

Always oil at room temperature. Not in direct sunlight or heat. Apply the first coat of oil generously with a brush or a flat brush in the direction of the grain. Initially, the wet oil will highlight the natural colour of the wood. But don't worry, the enhancement will disappear during drying.
After just two to three hours, the first coat of oil is dry and ready for intermediate sanding. This cuts off the wood fibres that have risen due to the water content in the oil. To minimise the risk of sanding through, hand sanding with a P220 sanding sponge is suitable for intermediate sanding. Afterwards, the surface should be thoroughly dusted.
Now apply the second coat of oil with a brush or a flat brush. This should also be applied generously and in the direction of the grain until the surface is evenly wetted. It is best to immediately massage the wet oil into the surface with a beige pad by hand or polishing machine until no residue remains. The surface should then feel dry.

TIP: If you have applied too much oil that can no longer be padded, simply remove the excess with a cotton cloth or an oil-absorbing cloth. Then polish the surface again with a polishing pad.

Here are some application strengths: "Scandic-Oil" forgives minor sanding errors and does not highlight them. The fast drying allows for surface treatment within one day. The surface is fully cured and usable after three to five days. Oil-soaked rags, pads or brushes are not prone to spontaneous combustion. Brushes & co. are easy to clean with water and can then be reused. The surface can be refreshed and re-oiled again and again without sanding.

Protection and Care

Like skin, wood also needs to be cleaned and cared for. Dirt is removed by the mild "OLI-NATURA Wood Soap" and the "OLI-NATURA Refresher" freshens up the furniture. The emulsion penetrates deep into the wood pores and renews the protective effect from within. The raw wood effect is preserved and small scratches are softened. Use the "Refresher" depending on the wood's needs: for example, if the water resistance decreases or the wooden furniture feels dry and brittle. With regular cleaning and care, "Scandic-Oil" oiled surfaces will provide many years or even decades of enjoyment.

The typical darkening of the wood is reduced, its natural color is largely retained, and the surface appears almost freshly sanded. Its high light stability helps slow down darkening and yellowing – while providing reliable everyday protection. Even on deep-brushed and structured oak, pigment deposits in the pores remain almost invisible. This creates a calm, natural raw wood look without a limed effect. When is OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE the right choice? If you want to protect light wooden furniture or stairs, where the freshly sanded character should be preserved as much as possible. Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE is particularly suitable for modern raw wood surfaces where a classic oil would darken too much. For wooden floors, use OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil CLASSIC. The raw wood effect oil is suitable for the protective treatment of solid wood surfaces in indoor living areas – from furniture and tabletops to stair treads, wall panels, and moldings. It is particularly suitable for untreated light softwoods and hardwoods such as oak, ash, spruce, or fir. For heavily used areas, 2K application with OLI NATURA® H2O-Hardener is recommended. What does wood look like after OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE? The natural color of the wood is largely retained. The pores are not whitened – for a natural raw surface without a limed effect, which visually and haptically resembles freshly sanded wood. The surface effect can be specifically influenced with optional additional work steps. The impregnation can be refreshed repeatedly by re-oiling with OLI NATURA® Refresher. A test area on the original wood is recommended. 20 ml samplers are available for this purpose. How easy is OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE to apply? The raw wood effect oil is applied in two coats to raw wood – with a brush, roller, or spray method. Since the water content can raise wood fibers, a light intermediate sanding is recommended after the first coat. By polishing the still-wet second coat with a pad, the surface becomes duller, and layer and streak formation are counteracted. For initial care or an optional third coat, OLI NATURA® Refresher can be used.
