OLI NATURA® PreOilCleaner - Wood pretreatment before oiling
OLI NATURA® PreOilCleaner is a cleaning pretreatment for untreated or freshly sanded wood surfaces. It thoroughly cleans the wood and prepares furniture, stairs, parquet flooring, and panels for the subsequent oil finish. The product is suitable for all types of wood.
Better oil absorption and more intense coloration
The pretreatment increases the wood's absorbency, improves oil absorption, and intensifies the coloration of colour oils. On tannin-rich woods such as oak, OLI NATURA® PreOilCleaner reduces tannin-related reactions and thus the risk of discoloration, tannin stains, and water marks.
Application at a glance
Dilute at a ratio of 1:4 with lukewarm water, apply evenly until the surface is damp but not wet, and allow to dry completely. If necessary, lightly sand between coats, remove dust, and then apply oil. Step-by-step instructions can be found in the “Application” tab.
Important note: This product is NOT suitable for regular, daily cleaning. When using the reactive stain OLI NATURA® Antique, the surface must NOT be treated with OLI NATURA® PreOilCleaner beforehand.
How to use OLI NATURA® PreOilCleaner correctly
- Prepare the wood
Sand the surface professionally and remove all dust thoroughly. Recommended final sanding grit: P180–240 for furniture, P100–150 for floors. Wood moisture content: 8–12%. Apply at a material, object, and ambient temperature of 15–30 °C. - Dilute
Shake the bottle well. Mix 1 part OLI NATURA® PreOilCleaner with 4 parts lukewarm water, for example 100 ml cleaner with 400 ml water. - Apply mist-damp
Apply evenly with a well-wrung cloth, sponge, or cotton pad. For floors, use a mist-damp mop. Avoid puddles. Repeat the treatment if heavily soiled. - Allow to dry completely
The surface must look and feel evenly dry. Depending on conditions and the size of the area, drying takes approximately 2–8 hours; larger areas may take longer. - Smooth and oil if needed
After complete drying, lightly sand raised wood fibers with a fine grit in the direction of the grain. Remove all dust thoroughly and then treat with an OLI NATURA® oil of your choice.
Tool cleaning: With water
Storage: Unopened, can be stored for at least 24 months. Protect from frost.
Important note: This product is NOT suitable for regular, daily cleaning.
