OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil - one application. Plenty of time to work.

Parquet, stairs, furniture, or countertops: OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil protects interior wood with just one application. The colorless, solvent-free high-solid oil enhances the natural wood tone and highlights the grain. Depending on the type of wood, sanding, and absorbency, one liter covers approximately 25-50 m².

Up to 90 minutes of open time give you more control during application and make it easier to work without visible overlaps, even on large surfaces - by hand or mechanically. This leaves enough time for reworking and subsequent polishing. Apply the oil directly without hardener, or increase resistance and accelerate curing with OLI NATURA® Hardener. A ratio of 10 parts oil to 1 part hardener is sufficient.

Which types of wood and applications is OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil suitable for?

For untreated or freshly sanded wood surfaces and absorbent wood-based materials indoors. On wooden floors and stairs, slip resistance is also important: R10 tested on sanded oak - both without and with hardener. Also suitable for bathroom furniture and wood surfaces with epoxy resin. Here, we recommend OLI NATURA® Hardener for greater resistance. Proven on roller coating machines: Used for years for factory-applied oil treatment of parquet and absorbent wood-based materials.

How does OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil change the appearance and feel of the wood?

NATUR is unpigmented and intensifies the wood's natural tone: The wood tone gains depth and the grain becomes more pronounced. The surface remains matte, with the wood structure perceptible to the touch. Light-colored woods may appear darker and warmer.

For smoked effects on oak, combine HS Professional Oil with the VOC-free reactive stain OLI NATURA® ANTIQUE in the colors Smoked and Black Smoked. The subsequent oil treatment intensifies the color effect and protects the surface. For colored surfaces, choose OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil COLOUR.

Tip: Test on wood prepared in the same way and assess the result after drying.

How easy is OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil to apply?

Apply thinly. Work in. Polish. The long open time gives you the flexibility to work the oil in carefully and evenly, even across larger sections of flooring - for a seamless result with less time pressure. Work by hand or mechanically, with or without OLI NATURA® Hardener - according to the surface and its level of use

All work steps, mixing ratios, and drying times can be found in the Application tab.

Apply HS Professional Oil NATUR: oiling furniture, worktops, stairs and floors

Preparation: The wood must be clean, dry and absorbent. Remove old film-forming coatings. Do not sand floors and stairs finer than P100-120, or furniture and worktops finer than P180. Remove dust thoroughly. If necessary, pre-treat with diluted OLI NATURA® PreOilCleaner Allow to dry completely before oiling, smooth raised wood fibres if necessary and remove dust again. Do not use PreOilCleaner before OLI NATURA® Antique.

Tip: Apply a test coat to similarly prepared wood and assess the colour effect after drying.

Optional with hardener: Thoroughly mix 10 parts oil with 1 part OLI NATURA® Hardener and use immediately. Pot life: approx. 2-3 hours. Mix only the required quantity.

Furniture, stairs and worktops: Apply the oil thinly, work it in with a beige pad and allow it to penetrate for approx. 30-60 minutes. Re-oil quickly absorbing areas if necessary. Remove excess and polish with a white pad until the surface feels dry to the touch.

Parquet and wooden floors: Work in sections of 10-15 m². Apply the oil thinly with a short-pile roller or squeegee and work it in with a beige pad within the open time of approx. 60-90 minutes. Re-oil quickly absorbing areas if necessary. Remove excess and polish with a white pad - on floors, also with a single-disc machine.

Important: Polish all surfaces completely until they feel dry to the touch. Do not leave any excess oil.

Coverage: One coat; approx. 20-40 ml/m² or 25-50 m²/l, depending on the type of wood, sanding and absorbency.

Drying: Without hardener, dust-dry after approx. 1-2 hours, carefully walkable after approx. 24 hours and fully cured after approx. 5-7 days. Cures faster with hardener. Until then, protect from water and heavy use and do not clean with a damp cloth.

Safety - Risk of self-ignition: Fully soak oil-soaked cloths and pads with water and leave them spread out to dry outdoors. Avoid heat build-up. When adding hardener, observe its safety instructions.

Further information: Before use, consult the Technical Data Sheet in the "Downloads" section.

How do you care for and clean surfaces treated with OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil?

Oiled wood surfaces are easy to care for and easy to repair. The protection can be renewed by re-oiling. Small scratches and worn areas can usually be repaired locally - without having to treat the entire surface again.

Cleaning: Protect from water and do not clean with moisture until fully cured. Dust furniture dry; vacuum or sweep floors and stairs. If necessary, clean with OLI NATURA® wood soap using a damp, not wet, cloth, following the recommended dosage. Avoid aggressive or abrasive cleaners.

Everyday protection: Wipe up spilled liquids immediately and avoid standing moisture. Place hot objects on coasters. Felt pads under furniture help protect against scratches.

Care and refreshing: How often the surface should be maintained depends on the type of wood, use and level of wear. If water repellency decreases or the wood looks dry and dull, it is time to refresh it with OLI NATURA® wood care oil or OLI NATURA® Refresher. Apply a thin coat to the clean, dry surface and follow the care product's instructions.

Repair: Lightly sand small scratches and worn areas locally and re-oil them with the same oil used for the initial treatment. For colored surfaces, use the original color shade.

HS Professional Oil NATUR is not classified as a hazardous mixture in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) and is not dangerous goods.

Risk of spontaneous combustion: Oil-soaked rags, cloths and pads can spontaneously ignite due to heat buildup. Clean them immediately after use or store them completely submerged in water. Do not leave them crumpled up.

Keep out of reach of children.

What distinguishes HS Professional Oil NATUR?

HS Professional Oil has 100% solids content: It contains no solvent that evaporates during drying. The oil absorbed by the wood remains in the wood structure and cures there. This generally allows the wood to be saturated and protected with just one coat when applied correctly. with just one coat.

What does HS Professional Oil do to wood?

As an impregnating oil, HS Professional Oil penetrates the wood structure and cures there through oxidation. This makes it more difficult for water and dirt to penetrate. The wood structure remains intact; when protection diminishes, the oiled surface can be refreshed.

Which surfaces is HS Professional Oil suitable for?

For untreated or freshly sanded wood and absorbent wood-based materials indoors, such as floors, stairs, furniture, tables, and countertops.

Which oil is right: HS Professional Oil NATUR or Colour HS Professional Oil?

NATUR is unpigmented and enhances the natural tone of the wood. COLOUR contains pigments, colors the wood transparently, and leaves the grain visible. Test the color effect on similarly prepared wood and assess it after drying.

Is a surface treated with HS Professional Oil waterproof?

No. Once fully cured, it is water-repellent but not waterproof. Wipe up liquids promptly and avoid standing water.

What requirements must the wood meet before oiling?

It must be clean, dry, absorbent, and free of grease, wax, and other separating substances. Sand the wood evenly and remove dust thoroughly. The permissible wood moisture content is 8–12 %.

Can I use HS Professional Oil on lacquered or previously oiled wood?

Remove all old film-forming coatings so that the oil can penetrate the wood. Check previously oiled surfaces for compatibility and sufficient absorbency; if necessary, sand down to bare wood.

What final sanding is correct for HS Professional Oil?

Do not sand floors and stairs finer than P100–120; do not sand furniture surfaces finer than P180 . An even sanding finish is particularly important for the color effect of COLOUR. Then remove dust thoroughly.

How is HS Professional Oil applied?

Apply the oil thinly and evenly and work it into the woodwith a beige pad. After the application time, remove excess oil and buff with a white pad until the surface feels dry to the touch. Do not leave any excess oil on the surface.

Can I apply HS Professional Oil by hand?

Yes. Smaller areas can be treated with hand pads. On larger areas, the oil can be worked in and buffed mechanically; on floors, use a single-disc machine.

What advantage does the long open time of HS Professional Oil offer?

The oil remains workable for longer after application. This means larger sections of flooring can be oiled evenly, areas with higher absorption can be reworked if necessary, and the surface can then be carefully polished. This provides greater safety during application and helps prevent visible overlaps.

Can I use HS Professional Oil with hardener?

Yes. Thoroughly mix 10 parts oil with 1 part OLI NATURA® Hardener and use immediately. The hardener accelerates curing and increases resistance; with COLOUR, it also improves pigment bonding. The pot life is approximately 2–3 hoursfor NATUR and approximately 1–2 hours.

for colored variants.

What should I do if I have applied considerably too much oil and it is still wet? If a lot of oil remains on the surface after the penetration time, sharply remove the excesswith a foam rubber squeegee before polishing. Then polish with a white pad until the surface feels dry to the touch and no excess oil is visible.

Why does the oiled surface remain sticky or dry only slowly?

There is often still too much oil on the surface. Low temperatures, high humidity, and limited air circulation also delay drying. Polish off all excess oil completely. The material, wood, and surroundings should be at +15 to +25 °C during application; ensure air circulation while drying.

When can I walk on an oiled floor again?

Without hardener, the surface can be walked on carefully after approximately 24 hours and will be fully cured after approximately 5–7 days. With hardener, it cures faster. Protect it from water and heavy use until it is fully cured.

When can I clean the surface with a damp cloth?

Only after it has fully cured. After that, clean as needed with OLI NATURA® wood soap using a barely damp cloth.

When should the surface be refreshed?

When protection begins to diminish, not according to a fixed schedule. Clean the surface first and allow it to dry completely. For refreshing, use the care product specified in the relevant Technical Data Sheet. If the color shade is also to be renewed with COLOUR, follow the separate application instructions in the data sheet.

Do I need to sand before re-oiling?

Not necessarily. When refreshing an intact, oiled surface, thorough cleaning is the first priority. Sanding may be necessary in the event of damage, stains, or troublesome care product residues. The condition of the surface is decisive.

What should I be aware of regarding oil-soaked cloths and pads?

They can spontaneously ignite. After use, soak them completely in water and then leave them spread out to dry outdoors. Avoid heat buildup.
