However, it offers significant advantages for a fast and robust finish, especially for parquet floors or wooden sinks. Stronger Bonds: Intensifying Oxidative Polymerization
Drying oils like linseed oil and tung oil, which are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, cure as soon as they come into contact with atmospheric oxygen. By adding OLI-NATURA HS Hardener, this process of oxidative polymerization is not only accelerated but also intensified. The result? A tighter molecular cross-linking that makes the treated surface significantly more resistant and durable. Figuratively speaking, this process is similar to creating a fabric: individual threads alone do not form a material, but by weaving many threads, a mesh is created. If this fabric is processed even more densely, it offers improved protection."

The OLI-NATURA HS Hardener also significantly accelerates pigment incorporation in colored oils such as the colored parquet oil OLI-NATURA HS Profiöl or our two-component OLI-NATURA Colour Oil 2C. The colored oiled surfaces are not only more resistant, but also completely color-abrasion resistant after 24 hours."
Fine sanding? No problem!
The final sanding is absolutely crucial when oiling wood surfaces. If the wood is sanded too finely, it cannot absorb the oil optimally. Especially for surfaces that are sanded significantly finer than 180 or 240 grit – as is often the case with wood and epoxy resin tables – we recommend using our 2K method with OLI-NATURA HS Hardener. This ensures that the oil can perfectly bond with the cellulose fibers of the wood even with very fine sanding and provide a durable finish.
No Training Required
The OLI-NATURA HS Hardener, an isocyanate base of the latest generation, is completely VOC and emission-free and exceeds the strictest EU limits. Although no training is required for its application, we still recommend that experienced applicators handle it to correctly observe special technical aspects such as pot lives.
Conclusion:
With the exception of OLI-NATURA Colour-Oil 2C, where the HS Hardener is mandatory, our oils can optionally be processed with or without hardener. These oils include OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil, HS Hard Wax Oil, HS Profiöl, Scandic-Oil, and Skogen-Oil. Not every application requires the use of the hardener, but especially for professional applications such as parquet floors or wooden washbasins with frequent water contact, where quick curing and a very robust surface are desired, the OLI-NATURA HS Hardener is recommended. The hardener accelerates the oxidative polymerization of the oil and significantly increases its resistance.
The "OLI-NATURA HS Hardener" is VOC-free, emission-free, and does not require special training for application.
The VOC-free OLI-NATURA HS Hardener accelerates curing, improves resistance, and is added to the oil in the specified mixing ratio.
Shake OLI-NATURA HS Hardener well shortly before use and mix thoroughly with the oil in the specified ratio and process at room temperature.
Process oil-hardener mixture as directed. Process immediately and do not pour excess material back. Pot life 2-3 hours depending on oil type.
