The raw wood effect oil is suitable for protecting solid wood surfaces in residential interiors—from furniture and tabletops to stair treads, wall panels, and trim. It is particularly suitable for untreated light-colored softwoods and hardwoods such as oak, ash, spruce, and fir. For surfaces subject to heavier use, 2K application with OLI NATURA® H2O-Hardener is recommended. What does wood look like after applying OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE? The wood’s natural color remains largely unchanged. The pores are not highlighted in white, creating a naturally raw surface without a limed effect that looks and feels like freshly sanded wood. The surface appearance can be specifically adjusted with additional optional work steps. The impregnation can be refreshed repeatedly by re-oiling with OLI NATURA® Refresher. Testing on a sample area of the original wood is recommended. 20 ml samplers are available for this purpose. How easy is OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE to apply? The raw wood effect oil is applied to raw wood in two coats using a brush, roller, or spray application. Since the water content may cause the wood fibers to rise, light intermediate sanding after the first coat is recommended. Polishing the still-wet second coat with a pad makes the surface more matte and helps prevent layer formation and streaking. OLI NATURA® Refresher can be used for initial maintenance or an optional third coat. When is 2K application recommended? For surfaces subject to heavier use, Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE is applied with OLI NATURA® H2O-Hardener in a 10:1 ratio. The additional cross-linking increases resistance to water, grease, and everyday household stresses. 2K application is generally recommended for tabletops and surfaces likely to be exposed to grease splashes. What other features does OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE offer? VOC-free, low-odor, and tested for interior use. The raw wood effect oil contains no volatile organic solvents, complies with DIN EN 71-3, is saliva- and perspiration-resistant in accordance with DIN 53160, is approved by the DIBt, and is declared in baubook. Light White also visibly lightens the wood. For colorless protection, OLI-NATURA® Hardwax Oil Natural is the right choice. What does wood look like after applying OLI-NATURA® COLOUR Hardwax Oil? The natural wood appearance is preserved. The grain and structure remain visible and tactile—the color tone is the only thing that changes. The final color effect results from the interaction between the wood and the oil. The type of wood, its natural color, and the sanding determine how the same color tone will ultimately look. That is why a sample area on the original wood shows the color tone most reliably. All color tones are also available as samplers. Cotton White reduces the natural enhancement and yellowing effect on light-colored woods. Light White also visibly lightens the wood. Dark color tones appear more intense on light-colored woods, while light color tones appear correspondingly more subtle on dark woods. All color tones can be mixed with one another and individually softened with OLI-NATURA® Hardwax Oil Natural. A second application intensifies the color effect; using OLI-NATURA® Hardwax Oil Natural preserves it. Lightfast color pigments slow the wood’s natural color change caused by UV light and help preserve the color effect for as long as possible. How easy is OLI-NATURA® COLOUR Hardwax Oil to apply? It is easy to apply evenly. One application is usually sufficient for furniture. A second application is recommended for stairs and heavily used countertops—without intermediate sanding. Hardwax oil is not lacquer. Apply it thinly—that is all that is needed. The surface is durable, dirt- and water-repellent, and easy to maintain. Scratches and signs of use can be touched up locally or simply refreshed at any time—without sanding. The oil does not crack, peel, or flake. If you want to preserve the color tone, apply the second coat with OLI-NATURA® Hardwax Oil Natural. What can you rely on with OLI-NATURA® COLOUR Hardwax Oil? Once fully cured, the surface is harmless to people, animals, and plants. It remains open-pored and breathable and helps create a pleasant indoor climate. Suitable for children’s toys. Boiled linseed oil is “New Old School”—a traditional coating that was almost forgotten, but was once routinely used for wooden surfaces and structural elements, both indoors and out. In 2015, we rediscovered the traditional recipe, carefully refined it, and had it tested for contact with food. Today, boiled linseed oil is one of the most authentic ways for many workshops and wood enthusiasts to protect wood naturally: for cutting boards, end grain, kitchen utensils, turning projects, as well as bowls, knife handles, toys, birdhouses and bee houses, windows, and doors. Our boiled linseed oil is made in a gentle cooking process using only pure, cold-pressed linseed oil. To ensure faster and more even drying, we supplement the recipe with only a minimal amount of a modern drying agent. Additional additives and solvents are strictly off-limits. What’s more, our boiled linseed oil has been tested in accordance with the German Food and Feed Code (LFGB) and is suitable for wooden surfaces that come into contact with food. After application, the boiled linseed oil forms a durable bond with the wood and creates a water-repellent finish. Application is deliberately simple: apply generously with a cotton cloth or brush, allow it to penetrate briefly, and remove any excess oil. After sufficient drying, the application can be repeated several times. Two to three coats are usually sufficient. The wood appears more vibrant, warmer, and richer in tone. Light-colored woods develop a natural honey tone.

TEAK OIL & DECKING OIL FOR OUTDOOR WOOD Sun and rain change wood. Even weather-resistant woods such as teak fade and turn gray over time. Regular oiling with OLI NATURA® Yacht & Teak Oil counteracts the silver-gray patina and helps protect the wood surface from drying out and becoming brittle. The oil penetrates deep into the wood and protects it from within. The surface remains open-pored and water-repellent, while the color and grain are visibly refreshed—without forming a closed film. Which woods and applications is OLI NATURA® Yacht & Teak Oil suitable for? For wooden decks, decking boards, garden furniture, pool surrounds, and yacht decks made of suitable outdoor woods such as teak, bangkirai, Douglas fir, larch, eucalyptus, black locust, oak, Ipé, or Cumaru. The right choice if you want to preserve and visibly enhance the warm character of the wood and are looking for a biocide-free wood oil for outdoor use. A particular advantage is the simple maintenance: The oil penetrates the wood and remains open-pored. The oil coating does not crack, peel, or flake. Previously oiled surfaces can therefore usually be recoated easily without sanding. What does wood look like after applying OLI NATURA® Yacht & Teak Oil? Oiling gives the wood greater depth and warmth. The color and grain appear more vibrant, while the surface remains open-pored and natural to the touch. Natural is free of pigments, but not visually colorless: Like any oil that enhances the wood’s natural color, it deepens the existing wood tone. Teak is lightly pigmented, subtly enhances warm wood tones, and provides increased UV protection. The Teak shade is also suitable for other types of wood without covering them and recoloring them completely in a teak tone. The type of wood, its natural color, and the sanding finish influence the shade. The most reliable way to see the result is to create a test area on the original wood. All shades are available as samplers. How easy is OLI NATURA® Yacht & Teak Oil to apply? Apply thinly, allow to penetrate, and remove excess. Apply the oil evenly in the direction of the grain and polish it off completely after approximately 15 minutes. Apply only to clean, dry wood. Then protect the freshly oiled surface from rain and moisture for 5–8 days. Very dry or highly absorbent wood can be oiled a second time after drying overnight. Treat dense woods such as teak only thinly. For refreshing the surface, one application is usually sufficient. Previously oiled surfaces can generally be maintained without sanding. Depending on weather exposure and use, refreshing the surface once a year is usually sufficient; for fully exposed wood, it may be necessary twice a year.
